Honoring women in American culture

Col. Debra D. Daniels, 409th Contracting Support Brigade commander, addresses the audience at Baumholder’s Rheinlander Community Club Feb. 28 during a Black History Month commemoration event. This year’s Black History Month theme was “Black Women in American Culture and History.” The event also included a presidential proclamation reading by 1st Lt. George Johnson, a musical performance by Dashante Jackson, a poem reading by 2nd Lt. Makeda Young and a slide show presentation titled “the African American National Anthem.” Presentations to the participants were made by Lt. Col. Sam McAdoo, U.S. Army Garrison Baumholder commander.
