Overseas Housing Allowance survey
All service members assigned to Germany and residing in privately leased quarters drawing Overseas Housing Allowances for at least six months are encouraged to take the 2012 annual OHA Utility and Recurring Maintenance Allowance Survey which runs through April 30. Spouses of deployed service members are eligible to take the survey. By taking the survey, service members help influence their housing allowance rate. Claims against the estate

Toppers on television
AFN-Europe will be featuring special coverage of the Tournament of Plays Awards Show, the Installation Management Command-Europe’s annual showcase of the best in community theater, on the Pentagon Channel at 7 p.m. European time May 5 and 12. The show will also be available on AFN-Europe’s Youtube channel May 6 at www.youtube.com/afneurope.

DoD’s best broadcaster
Congratulations to AFN-Wiesbaden’s Chris Knoblauch, the Department of Defense’s Broadcast Journalist of the Year. Knoblauch was one of nine AFN-Europe broadcasters recognized as winners in DoD’s Thomas Jefferson competition. Knoblauch, a familiar face around the Wiesbaden military community, covered everything from the sergeant major of the Army’s visit to Wiesbaden this year to a host of local happenings.

AAFES giveaway
The Army and Air Force Exchange Service and Monster offer military Families an opportunity to win a trip for two to Costa Rica. The “Monster Ultimate Costa Rican Adventure Sweepstakes,” including round-trip airfare, four nights accommodations and $750 in spending money, is valued at about $9,750. In addition to the grand prize trip, five runners-up will receive $1,000 Exchange gift cards. Register through May 3. Prizes will be awarded on or about June 22.
