Garrison to exercise response capabilities

Soldiers, civilians, Families should increase awareness

The U.S. Army Garrison Baumholder will conduct a garrison-wide exercise during the month of May. The two-day exercise is designed to train personnel on aspects of the garrison antiterrorism and emergency management program. The exercise will include simulated terrorist attacks, fire response, shelter-in-place and other scenarios. Representatives from organizations in the community will act as role players to provide realistic and challenging training.

The exercise will be monitored by a control center that will observe the exercise and provide feedback to the garrison commander. Host-nation agencies will also participate in the exercise.

Soldiers, employees and Family members are encouraged to review their security awareness in conjunction with this training. Those who live and work in Baumholder may experience some delays in traffic during the exercise, but antiterrorism measures protect everyone in the community — Soldiers, civilians and Family members alike.

Force protection officials ask for residents to be patient as the garrison works to sharpen its emergency response skills.
