Dancing and cocktails
DJ Smooth will present ‘80s and ‘90s R&B music beginning at 8 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Vault Club and Casino. Show off your dance moves and enjoy the cocktail specials. Or head to the Vault on Sept. 22 for Latin Salsa Night. A Salsa instructor will be in the house to help you shine on the dancefloor.


Savings and investments class
Army Community Service’s Financial Readiness Program hosts a free Saving, Investing and Building Wealth class from 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 4. BOSS meetings
All newly arrived single service members are encouraged to attend a Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers meeting to learn about what BOSS offers and to make new friends. Members of all service branches are welcome. Topics covered are quality of life, recreation opportunities and community service opportunities. Meetings take place at 3 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 19 at the Warrior Zone. Bad Dürkheim Wine Fest
Visit the world’s largest wine festival on Sept. 8 with Wiesbaden Outdoor Recreation. The Bad Dürkheim Wine Fest will include rides, amusements and a chance to sample wines from the region.


Car repair classes
The Wiesbaden Automotive Skills Center will offer a Brake Service Class ($15) from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 9 and a Basic Car Maintenance Class ($10) from 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 23. Call (0611) 143-548-9817 to register.

Budgeting for Baby

Canvas and Corkscrews
Enjoy an evening of creating art in a relaxed setting at 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Wiesbaden Entertainment Center. Get tips from a professional artist and indulge in your favorite beverages during this adults-only get-together. The cost is $45 including all painting supplies. CPR and first aid
American Red Cross Wiesbaden offers a blended adult and pediatric first aid and AED course from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 27. Complete an online portion and attend a hands-on skills training. Cost is $55. Lego Block Party

Positive parenting
Strengthen your relationship with your child by learning how to make sense of his or her behavior during Army Community Service’s free Positive Parenting Class from 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 19. Spouse orientation
The Spouse Orientation Program, scheduled to be held Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Army Community Service, is a spouse-specific briefing aimed at exposing spouses to the benefits, programs, opportunities and resources offered in and around U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden. Harry Potter event

Barre at the Bar
Check out this new take on the Wiesbaden Sports, Fitness and Outdoor Recreation Center’s Barre class at 6 p.m. Sept. 28. Patrons (all experience levels welcome) receive a 90-minute barre workout including two cocktails or mocktails from the bar. The cost is $20 per person or $35 per couple. Oktoberfest express

Spanish Language Story Time

Guitar and Bass Lessons
Enjoy individual electric or acoustic guitar lessons or electric bass guitar lessons for adults at the Wiesbaden Arts and Crafts Center. The fundamentals, music reading, music theory and information about the music business are included in the course. Lessons are 30-minutes long and generally available from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Lesson times are subject to availability. Discover Germany

Crayon Cafe
Children through age 3 are invited to the USO’s Crayon Cafe at 11 a.m. every third Tuesday at the USO Wiesbaden Cottage, Washington Str. 18, on Hainerberg.
