Lucas Hoge concert
Armed Forces Entertainment presents country singer Lucas Hoge for a free performance in Newman Village June 20 at 6 p.m. Come out and enjoy the outdoor concert — part of the Wrangler National Patriot Tour.


Attend CIE
The next monthly Community Information Exchange will be June 28 at 9:30 a.m. at the Community Activity Center. Everyone is invited to attend to learn more about what’s happening in the community during the month of July.


Father’s Day bowling
Dads bowl free on Father’s Day, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wiesbaden Entertainment Center. Bring the whole family to celebrate this special day, starting with a great WECFast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.



Concerts on the lawn
The U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden and Family and MWR are teaming up with the U.S. Army Europe Band and Chorus and host nation bands to bring live music to Newman Village on Clay Kaserne. Free concerts will be featured on the following dates from 6 to 8 p.m.
● July 13 – Musik Brigade (Show band)
● July 28 – To be announced
● Aug. 25 – Hessen Police Orchestra

Replenishment drive
The Wiesbaden Red Cross needs help replenishing their stores of Comfort Kits (for use in a disaster or crisis situation.) From now until June 24 the Red Cross is requesting donations of travel-sized toiletry items to be used for those in need within the Wiesbaden community. Supplies include: Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Deodorant, Shampoo/Conditioner, Lotion, Razor, Bar Soap, Wash Cloth, Hand Sanitizer (Items must be 3 oz. or less).

Thrift Shop hours
The Wiesbaden Community Spouse’s Club Thrift Shop is open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and now has extended hours Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m. Check out the large selection of affordable Father’s Day items and shop Saturday June 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shop is located on Mainz Kastel Station. Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School will take place June 27-30 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Wiesbaden Middle School. Kids will experience God’s Word in surprising and unforgettable ways. Each day, leaders will reinforce one simple Bible truth, which makes it easy for kids to remember and apply to real life. Children who completed kindergarten through sixth grade can be registered. Summer library fun
The Wiesbaden library is offering a free, six-week summer library program with stories, projects, activities and incentives for children every Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. Program dates are June 30, July 7, 14, 21, 28 and Aug. 4. Play in the playground
The New Parent Support Program hosts play dates for families with preschoolers at alternating locations during the summer months. Parents are invited to meet and socialize with other parents while their children play and enjoy age-appropriate activities. This summer’s playdates and locations are: June 24 at Hainerberg Housing, Californiastrasse behind Bldg. 7741; July 8 and 22 at Clay Kaserne, Aumann Strasse Fairytale Playground; Aug. 12 and 26 at Crestview Housing, Pluto Weg Playground and Gazebo; Sept. 9 and 23 at Hainerberg Housing, Californiastrasse behind Bldg. 7741. Ed center open house
The Wiesbaden Army Education Center is hosting a luau open house event June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join staff from the AEC, Central Texas College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the University of Oklahoma, University of Maryland University College-Europe, Veterans Affairs, the National Testing Center and the Voter Assistance Program for hot dogs, popcorn, games and fun. Kids summer programs
Wiesbaden Child, Youth and School Services offers a host of great trips, classes and activities during the summer months. There are also a 4H imAlone Workshop, Summer Camps and Clinics, and SKIESUnlimited classes. For details go to www.wiesbaden.armymwr.com.

USO wine education
White and red German wine will be the theme of the next Wiesbaden USO introductory wine education course June 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn to buy, taste and experience the wines of this region with three red and two white wine samples. Class cost $35 per person and take place at the USO Wiesbaden Cottage.
