Food safety course
Need a food handler’s permit? The next Food Handlers’ Courses are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 6, Jan. 24 and Feb. 14 at Army Community Service. Call (0611) 143 548-9201 for more information.


American Indian Heritage Month
The 2nd Theater Signal Brigade will host a National American Indian Heritage Month celebration at 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Exchange on Hainerberg. The event will include a cultural dance performance, children’s totem crafting station, and a bead necklace and bracelet crafting station.
Students are encouraged to enter the Dreamcatcher Coloring Contest by Nov. 20. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade can submit a coloring page and youth in grades sixth through 12 can craft their own. Contact school administrative offices for more details. A judging panel will award prizes at the Nov. 21 event.


Amelia Earhart musical
The Amelia Earhart Playhouse will present the quirky musical, “Roald Dahl’s James and Giant Peach” Dec. 1, 2, and 8 to 10, Jan. 12 to 14 and 19 to 21. Show times will be at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Follow the adventures of James Henry Trotter as he deals with losing his parents to a hungry rhino, living with pickpocketing aunts, mixing magic potions and accidentally creating a giant peach. Danika Portz show
Armed Forces Entertainment will bring Nashville singer and songwriter Danika Portz to the Wiesbaden Entertainment Center for a free show at 7 p.m. Dec. 5. Arrive early for the best seats.


U’R Place Grand Re-Opening
Stop by between 4 and 6 p.m. Nov. 17 for free finger foods, giveaways to include two, $25 FMWR gift cards and VIP tickets to the Nov. 18 USA vs. Germany Rugby match. Meet the new U’R Place management and learn about new programs. Stick around to enjoy plenty of entertainment into the evening.


Red Cup Party
The U’R Place Bar and Grill will host a Red Cup Party Dec. 22. Enjoy drink specials and specialty drinks throughout the evening. U’R Place Bar and Grill is located in Bldg. 1214 on Clay Kaserne.


Movie Night at the Warrior Zone

Library story time
Children up to age 6 are invited to the Wiesbaden Library to enjoy a fun hour of stories, crafts and songs from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursdays. Movie matinee
Enjoy a free movie at 10 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at the Wiesbaden Library.


Job search help
Army Community Service’s Employment Readiness Program offers a wide range of classes and services. A Resume and USAJobs Class will be at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 13. Employment Readiness can also help with mock interviews. For more information and to reserve a seat, call ACS at (0611) 143-548-9201.


BOSS meetings
All newly arrived single service members are encouraged to attend a Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers meeting to learn about what BOSS offers and to make new friends. Members of all service branches are welcome. Topics covered are quality of life, recreation opportunities and community service opportunities. Tax Planning Class
Army Community Service’s Financial Management Program can help with the upcoming tax season. They are offering a free Tax Planning Class from noon to 1 p.m. Dec. 6. Call (0611) 143-548-9201 to register.


Lego Block Party
Children ages 7 to 12 are invited to exercise their imaginations during a Lego Block Party from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Wiesbaden Library. Call (0611) 143-548-9821 to make a free reservation.

Play Morning
Play Morning is a group for parents and children, ages 12 months to 3 years, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Fridays. At Play Morning parents can meet and network with each other while learning about child development, parenting skills and age-appropriate activities for their children to include free play, art and music. Play Morning meets at Texasstrasse 57, Apartment 2, Bldg. 7780 on Hainerberg.


ACS classes
Army Community Service offers free classes throughout the month — everything from Army Family Team Building and a Resume Seminar to Banking and Checking Accounts and Home Buying.
