Siren testing, Oct. 1
Community is advised that the City Wiesbaden Fire Department will conduct warning siren testing Sat., Oct. 1 at noon. During the test the siren will emit a 1 minute uninterrupted tone.
Licensing and registration fees increase, Oct. 1
As of Oct. 1, the U.S. Army Europe Registry of Motor Vehicles is increasing the vehicle registration fee by $5 to $35 dollars. Drivers license fees are increasing to $20. To register a vehicle, drivers must make an appointment at the Wiesbaden Vehicle Registration Office on Mainz-Kastel, civ (0611)143- 548-7815 or DSN 548-7815. VAT and UTAP closed Oct. 7
The Value Added Tax (VAT)/Utility Tax Avoidance Program (UTAP) Office will be closed all day Oct. 7 for staff training. Please plan accordingly.
Passport outreach day, Oct. 5
U.S. Consulate representatives will be on Clay Kaserne to process tourist passports and Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) applications, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Bldg. 1029. (Processing will take place in a room near the library. Signage will be posted). All applicants must bring a typed application form available at http://travel.state.gov/. Fees must be paid with a money order or cashier’s check. Personal checks, dollars, or euros will not be accepted. First Time Adult Passport is $135; Adult Tourist Renewal is $110; Child Tourist Renewal is $105; CRBA and Tourist Passport is $205; and CRBA and no fee passport is $100. Applicants should bring all original documents. Photocopying resources are limited.
Aukamm housing office open
Residents are invited to stop by the new Housing Branch office in the Aukamm community in Bldg. 7238. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and then 1 to 2 p.m., and closed training, federal and German holidays. Services include, schedule -pre and -final/move-out inspections; schedule pick-up and delivery of temporary government furniture (Not House Hold Goods delivery or delivery of commercial goods.); process TLA paperwork; make yard sale requests; and receive exception to policy requests.
