Clay traffic update
Heerstrasse and King Streets are closed now through Sept. 16 due to construction. During this phase of road construction, drivers can reach the Clay Shoppette using Wheaton Avenue (road in front of Health Clinic); however, drivers will exit the Shoppette area via Orms Avenue and navigate to their destination using the outer ring road.

To access services in building 1201 on King Street (Army Wellness Center, Soldier Medical Readiness Center, Red Cross, Army Public Health Nursing and the SHARP program office) drivers can travel down Wheaton Avenue and use the Orms Avenue detour.

Upcoming road closures at the same intersection include:

  • Sept. 19 to Oct. 16, Lucas Street will be closed.
  • Oct. 24 to 28, the entire intersection will be closed for final paving. (Heerstrasse, King St., Lucas Ave. and Wheaton Ave.)
  • Oct. 31, a portion of Wheaton Avenue directly in front of the Health Clinic will be closed to through traffic. The Health Clinic parking lot will be accessible from the north side only, via Boyd Boulevard.
