Mark your calendars for the upcoming Department of Defense Dependents Schools-Europe Wrestling Championships Feb. 15-16 and Basketball and Cheerleading Championships Feb. 20-23 to be held in Wiesbaden. Come out and cheer on DoDDS top teams and athletes.
One of the most outstanding wrestlers this year is senior Andrew Hempstead who is the 160-pound weight class and is undefeated. Another talented wrestler is senior Jesse Davis, who is also in the 160-pound weight class. If Hempstead and Davis meet at the European championship, the match will be a clash of titans. Sophomore Dante Thomas, at 132 pounds, also holds great promise for the championship with a 14-0 record. He could be the first Wiesbaden wrestler to be a three-time champion.
